Okinawa, Japan is one of the few places you can swim and freedive with these amazing animals. From late January to early March every year humpback whales travel to the warm waters of Okinawa to calf and mate. This short season offers amazing interactions with these amazing animals. Reef Encounters has been running these tours longer than any other operator in Okinawa and the has the only custom built dive boat just for this activity. Light and fast but incredibly stable the "Flying Dragon" is quick and silent allowing us to approach closer without spooking the whales and calves and allows our small groups to have one of a kind interactions with these amazing animals.
